The Inside Edge · member commentary, performance grid, watch list, weekly essay
Every model bought its names at equal weight in May. None held them that way by August.
On May 18 each model bought its roster at equal weights: 5% a name in Core 20 and Market Masters, 4% in Tepper Tactical, 10% in BioTech 10 and Apex Momentum.
By the close on August 17, the moment before the rebalance, the backtested record looked different. In BioTech 10, Immunovant had grown to 12.6% of the book and Celcuity had shrunk to 5.4%, more than a twofold gap between two positions bought at the same size.
Thirteen weeks of prices made that change without a single trade.
The same thing happened in every model, by different amounts, and the size of the gap says a lot about what kind of book each one is.
